Ryan and Cindy's rustic summer wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was held on a warm summer day in Mount Airy, North Carolina which is north of Charlotte. I had never been to this venue but it's now one of my local favorites. It's absolutely charming!

The wedding was held at The Farmhouse Siloam which is a family owned and operated wedding and event venue. The owners are so sweet and have put their heart and soul into this wedding and event venue. The wedding packages include a planner/day-of-coordinator which is really helpful. My wedding event venue had that too and it was great knowing I didn't have to worry about a thing while I was there.
It's lovely and a great spot if you are looking for a more rustic, intimate, farmhouse style wedding. It features a restored 1890's farm house, a stable barn to use as a rustic backdrop for family and couples photos or as a ceremony location, an outdoor ceremony pavilion with seating for 150 guests, and a really pretty covered reception pavilion. Honestly the entire property is spacious and gorgeous.
On the day of the wedding all of the flowers and trees on the property were in full bloom. We really lucked out. There were huge red roses everywhere and it made for such a gorgeous color pop in the photos especially against the purple, gray, and white color pallet.

Photographing a Wedding as a Husband & Wife Team
Working alongside my husband Matt at various photoshoots for the past decade has enabled us to establish a great rhythm for capturing stunning photos and important moments during any session. We have a routine that truly works for us.
Understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses enables us to work efficiently and effectively. I love our style and I'm proud of all the time and attention we've put into our craft and this creative business. We don't do every shoot together but when we do it's a lot of fun.
For Ryan and Cindy's big day, I began by photographing the bride alongside her bridesmaids, while Matt focused on capturing moments with the groom and his groomsmen as well as landscape shots of the venue and property. I later moved on to the pavilions to capture details and decor of the reception and ceremony spaces . I LOVE capturing the details of a wedding day because when you include them in with all of the portraits and special candid moments from the day, it tells a really beautiful story.
We met back up later on and together photographed the ceremony, family and couple portraits, and the reception. We got so many amazing shots that I absolutely love!

The First Touch
One of the special moments of the day was when Ryan and Cindy shared their first touch before the wedding ceremony. These were the most important photos to Cindy so we knew we needed to get it right.
Seeing Ryan walk out smiling as she hid behind the corner of the groomsman's suite and then touching each others hands and exchanging letters, was such a sweet moment and set a wonderful tone for the rest of the day.
The rest of the night was fabulous and everyone had a blast. Congrats Cindy & Ryan!
