Fall Sunset Family Photos at Jetton Park Lake Norman

Last fall, I had the absolute best time photographing gorgeous fall sunset family photos at Jetton Park on Lake Norman located in Cornelius, NC—one of those spots that just shows off in autumn—and it turned out to be one of the prettiest fall shoots I captured all year.

The weather was unseasonably warm (almost 80 degrees!), so we all showed up in lighter outfits while still trying to channel that cozy fall vibe. The Palomeque family nailed it with a beautiful palette of pinks, greens, and browns sprinkled with soft patterns that kept everything casual and effortless. Against the backdrop of glowing yellow, orange, and deep red foliage, their colors popped in the most magical way. The whole session felt love-filled, bright, and bursting with personality.

To help warm up their two little boys, I brought along some small bouncy balls—my secret weapon for instant smiles. Always works like a charm. Within minutes, we had giggles, big grins, and those sweet, candid moments that make a session unforgettable. I will always do whatever it takes to bring out those genuine kid smiles.

Some of my favorite shots from the day were the couples portraits—Mom and Dad looking absolutely gorgeous together at golden hour. Love these photos! This family was such a joy to work with.
