Fall Engagement Photos at Jetton Park on Lake Norman, NC
There’s just something magical about fall at Jetton Park in Cornelius, NC. The golden leaves, the crisp air, beautiful shimmering water over Lake Norman—it all comes together to create the perfect backdrop for family photos. And this session with Michael and Lily was exactly that: pure fall perfection.
These two had just gotten engaged —literally a week before their session while on a trip out of town—so the excitement was still fresh and bubbling over in the best way. They snagged one of my fall mini session spots last minute because they wanted to celebrate this new chapter with some sweet, simple, joy-filled photos. And honestly, I’m so glad they did.
We started down by the little beach area, where the lake was calm and the light was very soft. I always love beginning sessions with a mix of candids and gentle guided posing to help everyone warm up, and Michael and Lily stepped right into it. One of my favorite moments was when Michael twirled Lily like they were dancing at their future reception. Her smile, the movement of her hair, the colorful fall foliage behind them—so dreamy!
From there, we wandered over to the walking trail and were completely surrounded by a canopy of bright yellow fall leaves. It looked like something out of a postcard. We captured some walking shots, some laughing shots, and even a few dramatic dips courtesy of Michael. He nailed it, by the way.
To wrap things up, we found a cozy grassy spot and laid out a blanket for some cuddly, intimate photos plus a ring shot. These ended up being some of the sweetest images from the session—just the two of them soaking in the moment, newly engaged and glowing with happiness. Congratulations, Michael and Lily.
