Holiday Family Photos in Downtown Belmont, NC at Stowe Park & Main Street🎄
One of my favorite things about being a Belmont family photographer is getting to help people capture the little moments that make the holidays feel magical. This past December, I had the sweetest session with a husband, wife, and their golden retriever — who was the star of the session.
This lovely couple reached out wanting to book a fun session for their Christmas cards, and capturing family photos in Downtown Belmont, NC was the perfect backdrop. We wandered through Stowe Park, stopping by the fountain, the cobblestone stairs, and eventually making our way down Main Street. Belmont has this cozy charm year-round, but during the holidays it feels extra special with their trees and twinkle lights scattered everywhere. I always love capturing a few photos at the top of the hill getting the historic Coca-Cola sign in the background. It's so iconic.
Fun Pink & Blue Color Palette + Festive Props
Their color palette was such a vibe—shades of pink and blue for a Christmas shoot? Yes, please. It was playful, unexpected, and photographed beautifully against the brick and greenery. They even brought along the cutest ornament wreath, which added such a special and shiny touch. Accessories like the pink fuzzy beanie also added a cozy Winter vibe. You can tell they really put thought and intention into their session.
And then there was their golden retriever, who was basically a ball of sunshine with fur. He trotted along happily, posed like a pro, and added so much personality to the photos. I’m always thrilled when families bring their pets; they bring out the best candid moments.
Speaking of candids… those ended up being my absolute favorites. The way they smiled at each other, the little in-between moments, the laughter—it all felt so genuine and warm. We mixed in some classic posed shots too, but the candid ones really captured the love they share. Fun and easy sessions like this remind me why I love being a family photographer. A beautiful location, a sweet couple, a adorable pup, and a sprinkle of holiday magic—it doesn’t get much better.
